In Spring of 2005 Joe Mirante and Dave Warren donated an original Dodger car from Whitney's Playland. It had been stored for over four decades and was fairly battered and bruised. Jim Rose (of Rose Autobody) came to our rescue. He spent two months redesigning a new front end for the car — the original grillwork was totally missing. He also added headlights and taillights, removed the dents and gave her a brand new coat of shiny blue paint. He also managed to get a friend to donate brand new upholstery to make the car look brand new. When children come to Playland-Not-at-the-Beach, they will be able to sit in the restored car and have their pictures taken.
