Playland-Not-at-the-Beach is proud to partner with
American Cancer Society's
Relay For Life of El Cerrito to fight cancer and create a world with more birthdays. The
American Cancer Society is the Official Sponsor of Birthdays; Playland-Not-at-the-Beach
is the Official Host of Birthdays. Playland staff and volunteers have come together
to form the Playland Pal's Relay Team. Our team walks during the 24-hour event to
raise money for the American Cancer Society and honor Playland-Not-at-the-Beach's
founder Richard Tuck who lost his battle with cancer in April of 2011.
Since the Playland Pals Relay Team started in 2012 we have had over 50 team members
and raise over $12,500 for the American Cancer Society. The Playland Pals Team has
received the Gold Level Fundraising Award; and our team members have won awards
including the Sapphire Level Fundraising Award. Playland-Not-at-the-Beach also
sponsors the event directly each year as a Gold Sponsorship Level. The Playland
Pals team has also won event awards including the best campsite decorations, most
team members, team member who traveled the furthest to attend, most fundraisers,
and more!
