Lovely Lucy, the Fiji Mermaid, is allegedly the result of the mating of the
human species with an amphibian. According to legend, Lucy and her
six siren sisters would swim along shore near the Fiji
islands, whistling and clicking their long, sharp teeth to
attract the attention of the sailors on nearby fishing
vessels. The unfortunate sailors, shocked and amazed at the
site of these mermaid creatures, would lean over the ships'
railings for a closer look, thus causing the boats to
capsize. Soon Lucy and her sisters would be feasting on
the corpses of the doomed sailors. Even now, don't get too
close to Lucy's teeth and claws! Of all specimens of Fiji
mermaids, this is one of the rarest in that it still has
some of the human hair intact.
